Gicleé Art Prints
|
WHAT ARE THEY?
Gicleé Prints are superb reproductions that accurately capture the original artwork. They are produced through a revolutionary printing process that uses state of the art digital technology. Gicleé (pronounced "zhee-clay") is a french word meaning "to spray the ink". The Gicleé process begins by scanning the original artwork photo transparencies into a computer so that all aspects of the image can be manipulated to achieve the truest result. In the process, a fine stream of ink - more than 4 million droplets per second - is sprayed onto canvas or archival paper producing a combination of more than 3 million possible colors. The digital printmaking process is capable of producing exceptional results because of its extended color gamut and "continuous tone" characteristics.
By pushing the edge of fine art reproduction, digital printmaking has earned its reputation as being vastly superior in color fidelity and quality to commercially printed lithographs. Its capabilities of range and responsiveness are virtually unparalelled in the fine art world. Gicleé prints are known for color intensity, saturation, and brilliance, combined with fine detailing and subtle shading.
ABOUT MY SIGNED GICLEÉ ART PRINTS
My gicleé prints show every color and tonal nuance present in the original paintings. Most of the prints are on canvas with colors that are lush and vibrant with the feel and tonality of a fine oil painting. The canvas prints preserve the integrity of the original art medium. Print selections also include reproductions on archival paper that capture the luminosity of the originals. Gicleé prints can be produced in different sizes, and are priced according to size.
My prints are limited editions printed in limited orders, and I personally inspect each print. Each print is signed and numbered and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
