The Artist and her painting "Reverence"

For thirty years Terri Talas has created a wide variety of representational art portraying nature and the environment as well as the ordinary objects that surround us in our daily lives. She is best known for her wildlife portraits and still life paintings, described by viewers as powerful and moving. The distinct beauty of Terri’s work is rooted in her ability to capture the heart and soul of her subject.

"The goal of my work is to explore the meaning and symbolism of our world both natural and man-made, and to express their essence through my art. I feel that the subjects I‘m drawn to paint have actually chosen me to speak for them."

Terri acquired a reputation for exceptional versatility in representational art through the numerous environmental and historical murals she produced for museums and nature centers, and through illustrating books on nature and the animal world. Terri attributes her background in environmental studies, mural painting, and professional illustration as the combining factors that have strengthened and shaped her fine art style.

Her original paintings and giclee reproductions can be found in many corporate and private settings, including museums, publishers, and national and state agencies. She is associated with many artist’s organizations including the Boston Copley Society and Oil Painters of America. Her studio is in the coastal community of Newburyport, MA.
